Testimonials
"I have loved using the Be The Change curriculum and platform. Our students at AUPP Liger have had a lot of experience with project-based learning already, however I already see how much deeper this course is pushing their thinking. The students enjoy engaging with the online curriculum modules, are learning how to take effective notes, and are building a deeper understanding of how to make a meaningful impact in the world. The modules are really set up well from a standpoint of providing content in various ways and allow for time for reflection and thought. I love facilitating the learning in this class!"

"I'm so glad that Little Planet is partnered with Orenda Learning because it is so intentional. I hope more and more schools and companies like Little Planet focus on this. My personal belief is that if this industry is not very well informed or working toward a sustainable way of conducting the activities and trips, it becomes exploitation rather than supporting. I am quite surprised to see that there are agents or middle partners like Orenda Learning who are actually looking at this closely and creating tools and products where people who work in this field can combine and emerge learning with the school trip as well."

"The Be The Change course provided an eye-opening learning experience for my students and a refreshing professional development opportunity for myself. The course is thoughtfully designed, user friendly, and informative while manageable for students to complete along with their other responsibilities. The support and consultancy provided by Orenda Learning was very helpful in setting up the program for students and in discussing how to use the material to build upon my Service Learning program. Following completion of the course, my students feel empowered to apply their skills to personal development as well as their Service Learning projects."

"At Diocesan School for Girls, service is a core value. Our motto Ut Serviamus (that we may serve), inspires our Service Learning Philosophy to make a difference in our communities. We implemented Be The Change in our Senior School in 2021 across a whole year level. Each year it gives our students the skills to research, investigate and take action in reciprocal service as action. It provides our students the knowledge and tools to approach real life Service Learning and empowers them to leave our school and go out into the world as respectful global citizens, ready to make real change."

"As a school we opted for the Be the Change programme as it delivers an important service curriculum which greatly benefits our students. When students leave our school, we want them to be active global citizens and this programme empowers them to be this as they embark on their life beyond the school classroom. This programme is designed online which gives us as a school more flexibility on how we can deliver it to best suit our students needs. The platform is easy to navigate and the resources are excellent. Everything is planned online which means less stress for the teacher overseeing the programme. Students have found it very engaging and enjoy researching needs in the local community to support. I would highly recommend this programme."

"We have had the pleasure of working with Orenda Learning as a provider of the Be the Change course for our high school student organisation leaders. The participation in the course is growing due to student demand as we are finding it an extremely versatile option in developing the necessary action-oriented leadership capacity of our students. We love that the course can be taken in its entirety or in parts to support the needs of the program (guided by the teacher facilitator). The added benefit of the independent participation option for students is extremely helpful for those students looking to develop their understanding of making change and becoming the agents of change we all hope them to be."

Build Capacity in Your School
Orenda Learning offers a range of services to support education providers to build their capacity to deliver incredible programs.
Target 4.7 of SDG 4; Quality Education, states that by 2030, we must ensure that all learners acquire the knowledge and skills needed to promote sustainable development. Indicator 4.7.1 covers the extent to which (i) global citizenship education and (ii) education for sustainable development are mainstreamed in (a) national education policies; (b) curricula; (c) teacher education; and (d) student assessment.
We are aware it is likely that education for Sustainability and Global Citizenship is an important part of your school vision and mission and we want to support you to increase your capacity to deliver this important area of education to your stakeholders, including your students, parents and community.
We offer a range of services and can build bespoke solutions based on individual needs.

Our Motivations
We are at a time of great change on our planet, nearing a tipping point where, as a collective human race, we need to make a significant positive shift in order to cope with global challenges and the uncertain future of humanity and the natural world.
The present climate sees a split in reality for the general populace. Those that ‘have’ can sometimes be preoccupied with the external, consumed with wants driven by mainstream society. Those that ‘have not’ often exist in a daily struggle to ensure that their basic needs are met.
As technology advances and becomes more embedded, many have lost the desire and ability to connect on a deep level with their surroundings – this includes human to human connection, and human to natural world.
Our young people have a natural ability to connect and lead their lives from their hearts rather than their minds. It is essential that the education system plays a role in fostering this quality in students, giving them the space and opportunity to develop sustained and productive relationships with their global community, and take informed action to work alongside that community to bring about positive change in the world around them.
